Can Enough cause false allegations?

No. No one can be accused via the Enough platform, everything is anonymous including the DNA. Any information on the platform remains encrypted in the private account of the survivor, and no one else can see it. Any snippet of testimony made public is done so with a human checking that no one and no incident can be identified.

If the survivors chooses to download their evidence and take it to the police they can, and the police will investigate as normal.

False accusations are rare. The Home Office estimate that c.4% of allegations made to the police are false, about 2,800 per year. There are about 430,000 rapes a year, so about 0.7% of rapes are falsely accused.

About 30,000 men are raped each year, and men commit about 425,000 rapes a year. So men are 15x more likely to be a rapist than to be raped, and about 150x more likely to be a rapist than be falsely accused of rape.
