How Enough was developed

Enough carefully studied the experience of survivors, the criminal justice system and approaches to preventing rape around the world. Over the last 9 years, we talked to leading academics, scientists, and experts. Enough also spent a year talking to survivors in Bristol and co developing our approach. Only when we were confident that Enough was truly what the majority of survivors were asking for and create genuine prevention did we launch.

We have not asked permission to launch. Our service is legal and is for survivors and those that support survivors. If survivors support and use Enough, and if the public support Enough because they believe it can help end rape, that is what matters.

For too long the existing system expects survivors to change and meet the system. Its about time the system truly changed to meet survivors.

Despite 50 years of efforts to improve criminal justice the amount of rape has not changed, and few survivors are choosing existing services. It is not good enough to say that survivors should simply report to a SARC or get help from a Rape Crisis Center if they don’t want to. As the government says, Survivors have the right to choose their own course.

The world has changed beyond all recognition in the last 50 years. Low cost digital media and tech have revolutionised the rest of our lives, creating enormous benefits. It's time these benefits found their way into the public and non profit sectors
