How Enough will be evaluated?

On impact and on cost. We successfully reduced smoking, drink driving, HIV/Aids, and many other major harms through very cost effective, long running and systematic public campaigns to create understanding, change social norms and change behaviour. Rape can be the same

Enough is in discussion with evaluation organisations that will independently evaluate its impacts and its costs over at least 3 years, in at least 3 cities

The evaluation will assess whether or not perpetration of rape significantly declines in the pilot cities in comparison with others where Enough is not active. Other attributes will be evaluated in order to more fully understand the process by which prevention is being created. These will include measures of awareness and understanding, public perception and beliefs, alongside measure of communication weight and effectiveness

The costs of Enough will be thoroughly examined and independent health economists will assess the costs to society of rape by comparison; in terms of costs to life quality, life expectancy, productivity and the costs of health treatment

Ultimately we need to know whether investment in Enough is returned many times over in benefits to society.
